Kleintucket

Martha's Vineyard, MA

A family cottage since 1950.
Weekly rentals each summer, from May to October.

The Cottage

The home base for your stay on the island is this charming, waterfront cottage. From the patio, you have sweeping views of Lagoon Pond, Vineyard Sound, Cape Cod in the distance -- and best of all, when the weather is just right, you're treated to a sunset that's second to none.

Read on for more of what the cottage has to offer...

Living Room

Enter the cottage through the living room, a simple yet elegantly furnished area with space to lounge, play card and board games, or take a lazy night to watch a movie.

And, for those who need to keep at least one foot in the real world, wi-fi is located throughout the cottage.

Dining Room

Adjacent to the living room, the dining area is a picture-perfect setting for your breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. With the best view of the lagoon from inside the house, we've enjoyed our meals here for years.

The Patio

This is where it's at. Take in the calm water and skies in the morning. Watch the ferries enter and depart from Vineyard Haven. Bask in the sun on a warm afternoon. Watch the sunset with a cocktail in hand. Use our grill to your delight and enjoy your meal on our outdoor furniture. It's for moments like these that you've chosen to enjoy your vacation at Kleintucket, and this is your chance. Don't fight the temptation.

Kitchen

You may want to enjoy one of Martha's Vineyard's many restaurants, or use our outdoor charcoal grill. But for those who want to prepare a meal the old-fashioned way, you'll have everything you need right here -- including a Vineyard essential, the lobster pot.

Bedrooms

Each of the two bedrooms are simple, yet comfortably furnished. Air conditioning units in both for relief on those hot nights. A queen bed in the master bedroom, and two twin beds in the second bedroom.

Outdoor Shower

The morning may be a little cool, so you have second thoughts. But the urge is there. You tiptoe through the wet grass, close the wooden door to your outdoor enclosure, turn on the hot water, and in a quick instant, it's magical. You stand there, maybe for a few minutes too long, soaking in your surrounding of sky and trees. It's just an outdoor shower. But sometimes, it's the simple things.

Lagoon Pond

Separated from Vineyard Haven Harbor by the drawbridge connecting Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven, the Lagoon is a large, quiet body of water that sets the tone for the magnificent view.

The Beach

Accessed by steps from the back yard, the sandy beach with tranquil water is right below the cottage. The island has countless other beaches. Many have more surf. Many have more history. Most have more crowds -- if that's your thing. But this beach... this one is practically all yours.

The Water

Wade out into the calm waters here for a relaxing, casual swim. Rent a kayak, sailboat, or wind-surfing equipment nearby for a ride up and down the Lagoon. Get a permit from the town and find some quahogs to make later that evening. Or walk around knee deep and see what little critters are crawling around on the floor below.
